  5. Welcome to the QM Client 2.6 v1 Read Me file.

  7. Please note this updater is for distribution in the United States only.  Versions for international QuickMail will be announced.

  9. Please Note:  The 2.6 Updater must be run on local machines only.  Do not run remotely.

  11. To use the QM Client 2.6 to 2.6v1 Updater:  
  12.  
  13. 1.  Disconnect from QuickMail. 
  14. 2.  Launch the Client 2.6 Updater (double click on the updater).
  15. 3.  Read screen and press OK.
  16. 4.  Locate the QuickInit file and press OK (if you are using System 7 the QuickInit file is located inside the Extensions folder, located in the System folder.  If you are using System 6, the QuickInit file is located in the System folder). 
  17. 5.  Quit the updater and restart your machine.

  19. Issues Corrected in this Update

  21. •  Corrected the following printing issues:  
  22. 1)  12 point text now wraps properly. 
  23. 2) The ImageWriter printing font was Geneva, which is NOT mono-spaced.  It was changed to Monaco, 9 and 12 point.

  25. •  Added code to properly disconnect the client when the user has the "check password on open" option selected, and hits the disconnect button in the password dialog.  This fixes a problem with spurious notification.
  26.  
  27. •  Extended VDEF interface so that third party directory services can verify address books and groups.
  28.  
  29. •  Added support for properly retrieving enclosures to netware for Macintosh 3.12 volumes.

  31. •  Fixed default preferences (on Mac SE's the client would indicate a NameServer was selected when none was).
